Mon amour

“Tell me,” he said.
“Have you ever loved someone so much it changed you?”
“I don’t think so.”
“It’s like the whole world burst with color and music. You feel a oneness with everything around you. You feel connected. You smile at strangers and they smile back at you. And then you’re willing to extend every ounce of kindness to anyone who needs it. It feels as though all your questions have been answered. You suddenly understand everything. The world makes sense. And then you look at the person who brought all these wonderful things into your life. But he is completely unaware of his effect on you. You look at him and you know that he’s going to be enough. And you keep saying in your head, “Je t’aime, mon amour.”
“Wow,” he said.
“I know.”
